ABC Boot Camp Camo Day

We survived our 1st full week of ABC Boot Camp!  We have been busy learning about A,B,C,D, and E.  We have worked on identifying, the letters by name, making the correct sound for each letter, learning the motion for each sound, and forming the letters correctly when writing.

Here are a few of our ABC Boot Camp Soldiers decked out in their camo....

Literacy & Math

Students worked at tables to do Literacy activities.

We had fun learning about different types of patterns and how to label them with letters.  We created AB, ABC, ABB, and AAB patterns. We also worked in our ABC interactive notebooks as we learned about letters A,B,C,D,E.

Peek at the Week

We were very excited to see ourselves in last week's Floyd Press!

Our Principal, Mrs. Cromer read us a book about being a bucket filler. We will work hard this year to be kind and respectful with those around us so that we can fill up lots of buckets!

Ms. Kari Kovich with "Heart of Child Music Education" visited our classroom and taught us about making music.  She will be back next week!

We have been taking real good care of our class bunny rabbit named Lucky.  Students get to take turns feeding her fresh veggies for her snack and lunch.  Stay tuned to find out about her first adventure to our Kindergarten playground in her bunny pin...

We continue to work on following our classroom rules to earn all of Mr. Potato Head's parts.  We have just a few parts left before we receive our next class reward for positive behavior!

Students helped pick corn from our Kindergarten garden this week. They helped shuck it and we discussed the steps to preparing it for eating.  I'm not sure where the sweeping step came from but they sure were working hard in the cornfield.

Our Names

We've been learning all about our names.

Our Class Pet

We did an awesome job building Mr. Potato Head this week as we worked on following our classroom rules.  Students earned a special reward by getting to meet our class pet, Lucky the rabbit.  Students are enjoying getting to pet her and work beside of her.

Pete the Cat

We read lots of books about Pete the Cat.  Then students made their own Pete using different shapes.

Playground Fun

The students enjoyed recess time during this week's hot days
